You are encouraged to register on the List of Danes for the duration of your stay abroad.

Make sure that you are registered with the local office of the Russian Migration Authorities (Russian Federal Migration Service FMS) on your arrival in Russia within 5 working days, please contact your local FMS office for details.

Bringing Pets to Russia

It is important to check the current regulations when travelling with pets

The Danish Embassy in Moscow might be able to answer some of your questions so if you intend to bring pets please write to us at describing what kind of pet(s) and the duration of the journey.

We advise you to also check with the Russian authorities.

Warning: Theft of car plates

Please make sure you use a guarded parking for your vehicle.

There is a high risk of theft of the licence plates if the vehicle is parked in a not guarded area.

For your information the cases of theft of foreign licence plates in Russia is done with the purpose to extort money from the vehicle’s owner.

Should you become a victim of this crime, please make sure you immediately:

1. Report the theft of the Danish license plates to the local police station in Russia and have the appropriate police report issued;

2. Contact the SKAT/Borgerservice - office at your Kommune and order a new set of license plates;

3. Make sure the new license plates are delivered to you as soon as possible;

4. Report the theft of the Danish license plates to the Danish Police.
