Cultural Officer at the Royal Danish Embassy in Moscow (local position)

The Royal Danish Embassy in Moscow is looking for a Cultural Officer.

Primary tasks and responsibilities:

As our new cultural officer, you will assist the cultural attaché's work to promote knowledge about Danish culture in Russia and will carry out the following tasks:

  • Assist in arranging, conducting and promoting the embassy's Public Diplomacy and cultural events and promotions in various Russian cities. This includes identifying and negotiating with partners and contributors in Denmark and Russia.
  • Draft grant applications, control the department budget as well as carry out accounting for the events.
  • Assist with correspondence between cultural institutions in Russia and Denmark.
  • Write press and news releases in connection with the events of the cultural department.
  • Develop the embassy's external and internal communication channels both as part of the cultural department and the social media committee to strengthen UM and the embassy's brand.
  • Ad-hoc tasks.

Requirements for the position:

We are looking for a skilled employee who appreciates Danish values and is passionate about making a difference. You are a proactive, energetic, responsible and innovative person with both good English and Danish language skills, networking skills and sufficient knowledge about Danish culture, society, cultural values and codes.

Our perfect candidate:

  • speaks and writes good English, Danish and Russian;
  • is a Russian citizen, resides in Russia and has a bachelor's or master's degree;
  • has an understanding of the Danish and Russian cultural environment and intercultural relations;
  • possesses knowledge of / experience in project management, communication / marketing and budget management;
  • is structured, takes responsibility for your tasks and shows initiative when necessary;
  • is good at networking;
  • is ready for busy work days, where tasks can change quickly and the deadlines often are very short;
  • has knowledge of Microsoft Office etc.;
  • is ready to make an extra effort in connection to ad-hoc tasks and always remembers the good mood.

Terms of employment:

The Danish Embassy in Moscow is one of the largest Danish diplomatic missions, offering a dynamic work environment with a focus on the development of personal and professional competencies in Russia or abroad.

Based on your experience, you will be employed in a specific salary category for local employees in Danish representations abroad. The position is unlimited, but the first three months are considered a trial period. The employment is 37 hours per week, and the working hours on weekdays are from kl. 9.15 — 17.00 (16.15 on Fridays).

The position includes business trips to various Russian regions in connection with the Danish cultural promotion in Russia as well as annual business trips to Denmark. The work provides you with an obvious opportunity to experience various cultural events, conferences, etc. as well as meeting a number of important cultural actors from Russia and Denmark.
