The Trade Council Russia Activities

On September 30 - October 4 2018 the Danish Business Delegation organized by the Trade Council Russia visited the Republic of Tatarstan, one of the most interesting and promising regions for Danish-Russian collaboration.

The delegation headed by the Ambassador Carsten Søndergaard visited Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny and Elabuga, where Danfoss, Grundfos, Per Aarsleff and AVK had an opportunity to promote Danish innovative solutions in energy.

The companies established new and strengthened existing business connections, discussed further steps for cooperation during meetings and talks with top-level government and business representatives.

As part of the visit the Ambassador Carsten Søndergaard met with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnihanov, who stressed the fruitful and long-standing collaboration between Tatarstan and Denmark.

One of important milestones in this collaboration is the opening of the new production line “Grodan” at the “Rockwool” plant in the Special Economic Zone “Alabuga”, which the Ambassador attended on October 2, 2018.

From 26-28 September a Danish agribusiness delegation visited Ufa and the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The delegation headed by Minister Counsellor, Esben Juul Bergmann Schjødt, consisted of 11 Danish companies bringing the best Danish agribusiness solutions to the local market. The trip encompassed a high-level meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan, Ilshat Fazrakhmanov. The meeting smoothly transitioned into B2B presentations and negotiations. Further, the delegation visited and discussed business opportunities with five local dairy and meat producing establishments.

All in all, the ground has been laid to extend our prolific cooperation!

On September 19, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Russian Federation Carsten Søndergaard attended the official launch of the production of a full cycle of insulin of the Danish company Novo Nordisk in the Kaluga region, together with the Governor of the Kaluga region Anatoly Artamonov, Executive Vice President of Novo Nordisk, Mike Doustdar, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Health , public and patient organizations.

The launch of a full cycle of insulin production by Novo Nordisk is an important step towards enabling nearly 5 million Russian patients to be treated with modern, effective and affordable medicines that improve the quality and expectancy of life.

The event confirms the reliability of long-term Danish-Russian business relations over the development of which the Trade Council Russia of the Danish Embassy works on.

Today, on September 12, Danish Ambassador Carsten Søndergaard held his first meeting with Vice President and General Manager of Novo Nordisk Hans Duijf arranged by Head of Healthcare Network Russia Svetlana Chernova.
During the meeting Carsten Søndergaard and Hans Duijf discussed further strengthening of cooperation between the Danish Business and the Embassy in order to support Danish companies’ business activities in Russia.

TC Russia invites you to join our Danish Agro and Food Business Delegation to Bashkortostan from 25th to 28th September, 2018.

Bashkortostan is located between the Urals and the Volga and is one of the richest areas in Russia.

It is also one of Russia’s leading agricultural regions and has:

- The largest number of beef cattle

- The largest milk production

- The 3rd largest potato production

- The 5th largest poultry production

- A very considerable grain, plant oil and sugar production

Danish genetics already plays a very important role in Bashkortostan’s pig production and the republic has expressed explicit interest in leveraging on that positive experience and bring in more Danish genetics (including cattle/dairy), know-how, equipment and technology to support the republic’s ambitious investment plans.

TC Russia and DBDH are pleased to invite you to participate in a joint Danish Export promotion to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 29 October to 2 November 2018.

The Export promotion will include a Danish stand at the exhibition UzStroyExpo (October 31-November 2) and B2b meetings with financial institutions and selected stakeholders in the utility sector. Meetings will be in accordance with interests of Danish companies which sign up for the event.

On June 3 – 8, 2018, Chief Veterinary Officer of Denmark together with Danish Agriculture & Food Council with the support of TC Russia visited Kamchatka and Primorye Territories to promote Danish business in the Far East.  

During the visit, the Danish delegation held talks with Russian veterinary services and representatives of the local government in the field of fisheries and aquaculture, where the participants discussed the opportunities for Danish business in the abovementioned sectors. Moreover, within the framework of the visit the delegation met with important stakeholders from the public and private sector regarding development of pig production in Primorye Territory.

On June 8, 2018 – the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region Sergej Morozov with the support from the Danish Embassy in Moscow and the Russian Embassy in Denmark visited Copenhagen to strengthen Russian-Danish relationships and cooperation.

During the visit, Sergej Morozov had meetings with a number of Danish companies active in Ulyanovsk and Russia. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark the Governor met with State Secretary Mrs. Susanne Hyldelund for an in-depth discussions of the prospects of further strengthening the cooperation between Denmark and Ulyanovsk Region. During a round-table at the Confederation of Danish Industry Mr. Morozov presented the economic and investment potential of the Ulyanovsk Region to a number of Danish companies.

On May 20-24, 2018 - the Danish Business Delegation organized by the Trade Council Russia visited Central Asia to promote Danish innovative solutions in different sectors.

The delegation headed by the Ambassador Thomas Winkler visited the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek and the Republic of Kazakhstan, Almaty where Danish companies covering such sectors as Healthcare, Energy and Environment, Transport had an opportunity to promote Danish business in Central Asia.

Coloplast, LEO Pharma, GN ReSound, Novo Nordisk, ICT Logistics A/S, Terma A/S, Danfoss Kazakhstan, Grundfos Kazakhstan, Medipal-Onko and others gained a profound insight on how perspective and promising the Central Asian market is. Danish companies established new and strengthened existing business connections, discussed further steps for cooperation during meetings and talks with top-level government and business representatives.

On May 14-16 May, 2018 the Danish Business Agricultural Delegation organized by the Trade Council Russia visited the Voronezh region.

The delegation headed by the Minister Counsellor for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Esben Juul Bergmann Schjødt visited 5 Russian agricultural companies (including site visits) in different parts of the Voronezh region, which is famous for its abundant black soil, highly developed agricultural sector and a long history of fruitful cooperation with Denmark.

The companies visited in Voronezh are important dairy and pig producers that are of considerable interest for Danish business.

As part of the programme, the delegation also visited the Voronezh State Agrarian University, where Danish agricultural companies shared their knowledge with the Russian specialists on Danish experience in organic farming.

From 10 to 12 April, Danish Wind Export Association in cooperation with TC Russia arranged the Delegation of Danish companies working within the wind power industry to Russia to establish strategic Danish-Russian partnership.

During the visit, Danish delegation headed by the Danish Ambassador Thomas Winkler went to Ulyanovsk and Moscow. In Ulyanovsk, Danish manufacturers had meetings with the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region and Russian potential partners involved in the wind power industry and interested in future collaboration between the parties in the field of innovative wind power projects.

They visited Special Port Economic Zone Ulyanovsk, Ulyanovsk Technology Transfer Centre etc. In Moscow, the Delegation held talks with top-management of RUSNANO and RosAtom on localization of production and future long-term cooperation.

The eventful visit of Danish companies to two cities of the Russian Federation promises to result in mutually beneficial collaboration where both parties are interested in developing Russian wind power industry.

Denmark shares experience with Russia

Danish Agriculture & Food Council with the support from TC Russia shared Danish successful experience in reducing antibiotics concerning pork during the International Scientific and Practical Seminar “Organization of Control System for Antimicrobials in Pig Breeding” in April 10-11, in Belgorod.

Jens Munk Ebbesen, Director of Food Safety and Veterinary Issues at Danish Agriculture & Food Council, together with Anne-Mette Olsen, Chief Advisor of Danish Agriculture & Food Council took part in the seminar to help the Belgorod region introduce the control system for antimicrobials in pig breeding and elaborate food safety standards.

Russian specialists and business know that Danish experience in limiting the use of antibiotics concerning pork and in pig breeding in general is far ahead that is why Danish participation was invaluable in terms of developing the pig breeding industry in Russia.
