Political Section

The Embassy’s Political Section covers Russia's domestic, foreign, and security policy, and seeks to promote both Danish interests in Russia and mutual dialogue between Denmark and Russia.

A large part of the Section's activities consists of analysing and reporting on Russian politics, events and statements of Danish interest. The aim is to provide the best possible foundation for the Danish government to define Denmark’s foreign policy. The work takes place in an ongoing dialogue with Russian authorities, civil society organisations, and other diplomatic missions.

The Section supports and carries out bilateral dialogue between Danish and Russian authorities and politicians, and assists with the preparation and execution of bilateral visits.

Since the Embassy is side-accredited to Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, the Political Section also covers political situation in these countries.
