The Ambassador's Welcome

Welcome to the homepage of the Danish Embassy in Moscow. On this page you will find all the information you need.

""

I am the Ambassador of Denmark in the Russian Federation, and it is the task of me and my colleagues to assist you and provide the assistance you may need – whether you are an individual, a company, an organisation or a public authority. It is our task to continuously develop the political, economic, commercial and cultural ties between Russia and Denmark. As a key element in this we believe in building personal relations; from the highest governmental level to the individual interpersonal level, which is why we actively promote exchanges of visitors between Russia and Denmark.

Relations between Russia and Denmark are constantly developing in a positive direction. We have decided to modernise our historic and long lasting partnership. We agree that a continuous development and strengthening of the political, economic, cultural and - not least - commercial ties between Russia and Denmark is advantageous for both countries.

The Embassy and the Danish Consulate General in St. Petersburg assist Danish companies in accessing the Russian market – both in the initial phases and later, should there be any challenges along the way. We also prioritise the visa sector to ensure that your business associates and friends can come to Denmark. Furthermore, we provide consular assistance when necessary. Finally, we seek to disseminate information about Denmark in Russia, for example through active cultural exchange.

I have myself worked with Russia for many years and was posted to Moscow between 1990 and 1992 and to Kiev from 1992 to 1994. Russia – its culture, language and politics have interested me since then and they still do today. I am also the Ambassador of Denmark to Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

I hope that you will find what you are looking for. If not, you are always welcome to contact the Embassy.

Best regards,

Thomas Winkler
